Developing a Maintenance strategy for any industrial equipment is essential work for maintenance experts. To eliminate loss of production, it is necessary to eliminate equipment failures with preventive maintenance activities. The problem starts, when costs of preventive maintenance activities, which are set to prevent failure to occur, overgrow consequent production loss costs. One of the methodologies which is used to develop an optimum maintenance strategy is RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance). The RCM methodology is based on Risk Assessment through the application of FMEA (Failure mode effects analysis) which are used to analyse effects of potential failures.
