Michael Muilenburg is the former Director of Operational Technology and Strategic Planner of 3M’s Film and Material Science, Technology, and Engineering Group.
He is currently co-host of The Voices of Manufacturing podcast, where he discusses various topics and anecdotes showcasing creative solutions in the world of manufacturing including smart technology, digitization, IoT, etc. He is also advising, assisting, and advancing manufacturing excellence and solutions for the frontline worker.
During his 35+ year career at 3M, he has worked in manufacturing operations, process development, product development, Lean Six Sigma, and supply chain. He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and a master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Northwestern University. Outside of his operational excellence career, Muilenburg is an avid musician and the sole proprietor of Sheridan Avenue Music, a recording project studio and music lessons business.
